Hey everybody. Have you ever wondered about a carnivore diet and where that falls into weight loss or healthy eating? I recently had the pleasure of being interviewed by Rochelle Court at Real Life Carnivore. And Rochelle was the coach that helped me with my carnivore journey that I started in September of 2023. In this interview you’ll hear the details about how the Lord called me to try carnivore to heal my gut. What happened is some of the great things that happened and some of the challenging things that happened in the end how I implemented what worked and what I enjoy doing now.
We also talk about our journey with food, freedom, binge eating, and How to eat carnivores if you have a family when your whole family doesn’t eat like you. You will hear this interview open with Rochelle introducing herself and then she starts to ask me questions. I hope you really enjoy this, here’s Rochelle. Hello everyone I’m Rochelle, The Real Life Carnivore. I am a carnivore mom of a beautiful little boy who I was able to get pregnant with, thanks to Carnivore. I’m here sharing about my overcoming of infertility. I’m sharing about my story and the healing and journey that I’ve been on and I’m also sharing the stories of other carnivore moms and dads that are really fun and I just think would be very helpful for other people to hear because each one of our journeys is so unique and so different. Today we have a really cool guest, her name is Denise and I’m really excited to introduce her to you. So let’s dive in. Rochelle: Denise: Rochelle: Denise: And I didn’t have to rush and being able to ask for what you need is so key to, I think, being a woman who enjoys her life. Rochelle: Denise: And we started to try to get pregnant and that didn’t happen. So this gave me this beautiful time of wanting something and not having that child or getting pregnant. I just feel like the Lord was like, you don’t have me yet. You’re not going to be able to do this. And so in that time, I came to my faith. I converted to Catholicism from no faith. And soon after that, we started the adoption process for our boys. In the meantime I think it’s really important for new moms and moms in general to recognize that no one taught you how to be a mom and no one taught you how to be a wife. And so the amount of, nobody even taught you how to live with another human being. And so the amount of stress that you feel from being married to this person that you just this is all you ever wanted. You couldn’t have predicted that. That said, and then when you get the children that you are meant to have, and you’re like, shouldn’t I just be loving every minute of this? And it’s crazy. And now you have another human being that you cannot control. My point is that the amount of stress that I felt from getting married and then four or five years later, having our first adopted son, bringing him home, it’s when my overeating just took off. It just took off like crazy and I could find myself stress eating a lot, which is one of the reasons why I really want to help women because that feels like a literal hell on earth because you’re like, why am I doing this? I don’t want to be doing this. Why can I not stop? Then we adopted our second son and then not only did the overeating take off, but then the overdrinking. To make a long story short, at one point I decided this is it. I’d been through therapy several times. I’d bought, I don’t know how many diet programs I’d hired trainers. I had just tried all the things and the Lord took me to a solution to overcome this that involved the missing piece from all those other attempts, which was him. And learning how to open my hands and say, I’m going to give this to you. I can’t do this on my own anymore. And I have now celebrated this January, 10 years of being free from being controlled by food. And I, here’s the crazy thing is that I didn’t come into food recovery because I wanted to lose weight, a lot of people do. I came in because of the emotional anguish, the mental anguish. I was thinking about food like 85 percent of my day. What can I eat? When can I eat? What can I eat? When can I eat? And I was like, there’s gotta be more to life than this. There’s just gotta be more to life than this. And I have these two boys that I prayed about. We’d gone to a foreign country to adopt them. I’m like, we tried really hard to have them. And I’d rather be hiding in the corner of my pantry with a jar of peanut butter, dumpy chocolate chips, and being like they just go away. And waiting for my husband to go to bed so I could just eat like I wanted. And so it was just like it was miserable. It was absolutely miserable and I was exhausted mentally, emotionally. And I think you can see just even in my face now, the freedom that comes when we’re willing to let go. And so let’s talk about how I met Rochelle. I met Rochelle last November, in the meantime, as I’ve recovered from food recovery, other things have come up for me, different health issues like adrenal fatigue. And one of the biggest things that I’ve had is this gut issue called SIBO. And SIBO happens because essentially the bacteria in your large intestine, their GPS is like, messed up and they’re in your small intestine. And this can happen like if you’ve had a bout of food poisoning or for a couple of other reasons, but I did have a really bad bout of salmonella. Anyway, In 2016, I was diagnosed with SIBO and I pretty much know how to manage it now, but I will have different episodes of it getting worse and worse. Two years prior to meeting Rochelle, I had gone keto and that was great. It was awesome. I really enjoyed it. I started it because the Lord told me to, totally different story. But what had happened in the meantime is that I had been introducing many keto safe foods that my gut did not like. And those were mostly like sugar free syrups that had sucralose in them. But probably the biggest defender that my gut was like, we can’t handle this was a keto bread, which just has resistant starch in it. And if you ever have a gut issue or SIBO, it just made my SIBO flare to the point that I could even eat SIBO safe foods only, And the only two SIBO safe foods, truthfully, are fat and meat and proteins and eggs. Everything else has a starch in it that feeds the bacteria and pretty much all produce. And so my existence was, I’d hit the bottom again, which I hadn’t a couple of times with my gut, where I’m like, I can’t eat anything. Nothing feels safe. And so I started looking at meat based and carnivores, because like I said, meat does not ferment in your gut. Produce did. my gut that had SIBO, meat does not. And neither does animal fat. And I thought, what the heck? What the heck? And I remember looking up tons of carnivore stuff. And I said, do you know what Denise? I just kept feeling like the Lord was like, do this. So I started on my own in September. And then six weeks later, I’m like, I don’t know, Lord, I just need some support. I just need some support. Cause it was clear to me that walking so closely with the Lord. And I spent every day with him every morning. Is this really what you want? Is this really what you want? Because I started to question it. Now I love the food, but I started to question it because my weight started to go up. And I was like, does that, is that a bad thing? Like I had to start looking at my mind. Does that even matter? Is that a bad thing? And he kept saying, this is what I want for you. This is what I want for you. This is what I want for you. And I thought I need somebody to help me with my brain and my mind drama about this, because I know this is what the Lord wants for me. How can I get help? And that’s when I came to you. And, you were recommended to me cause I started a different community. Like I wanted a community and that community had a specific protocol. And I was like, this the protocol was like eating lots and lots more food, like to where you’re comfortably stuffed. And that felt scary to me as a former binge eater. It also felt scary to me because I had a fear of gaining weight. It’s just there was so much fear that I just needed somebody to hold my hand through this because I was100 percent sure, you guys, I wrote every morning and every time I would have that, Lord, are you sure this is what you want for me? He’d be like, yes. And I’m like, all right, then Denise, I’ve got to step out of the way. I’ve got to remove the things that are making me question what he’s telling me. And that’s why I needed you. And so I started that journey because I kept gaining and gaining and gaining and gaining and gaining over 20 pounds in three months, which was very uncomfortable for me. But I kept going back, Lord, is this what you want for me? And he was like, yes, this is what I want for you. I’m healing your body. But he needed me to continue to remove the things that were standing in the way of your fear of gaining weight. It just changed my relationship with myself. It helped me really as a mindset coach, which is what I do. It helped me coach myself to look at, Oh my gosh, Denise, how are you gripping onto your thin body? How do you believe that your thin body meant you could be a good coach, that you could help people, that you were attractive. It just helped me in so many ways. Learn how to love me, support me, be gentle with me, know what it’s like to have over 20 extra pounds on my body to not be able to fit into any clothes, to go buy some comfortable clothes, to start experimenting with wearing button up shirts, tied at the waist so I could feel attractive. I’m just telling you like the mind work that those 20 extra pounds, which was necessary to heal my gut. I really believe that I just became a new human. My mind was different. I looked at myself differently. I could look at my body and I would stop being so critical. And I would say I’m learning. To be gentle with my healing body. I’m a woman who’s tender through these vulnerable times. Just like the self talk and Lord, it was just. It really was beautiful. Because now I can help women now with their bodies. And I think the Lord does that so often for, especially Rochelle, I’m sure you’ve seen this where he puts us through quote struggles so that he’s Oh yeah, you have to lean on me to get through it. And then you can teach other women how to lean on me to get through it. So I’d just been gaining come January 1st I said, okay, Denise, you work with women to help them lose weight. and you always say, stop feeling controlled by other people’s food rules. Because as I told you now, Rochelle, you weren’t the one who was like, you have to do this. You have to do this. But in my brain, I was following this protocol by somebody else. And I just kept saying, I’m going to just trust this protocol. I’ll do it for six weeks. I’ll see how it goes. And then I woke up January 1st and I thought, Denise, what if we can take everything that’s been working, the gut healing, what if we take what has been working, but Let’s do this your way. And that’s what I always teach people is what works for you. We’ll just try it. If it doesn’t work or it stops working, then we’ll just do something else. But just like it helped me remember that you can trust yourself. You can trust yourself and so I started to not stuff myself with food. My first thing that I said was I’m just going to write down what I eat. I’m just going to write what I eat because it wasn’t working for me to just Eat a lot of food, it just wasn’t working. So I’m like, I’m going to just become aware of what’s cooking here, become aware of what’s cooking. And then the evolution was slowly and slowly I started thinking, now I want to go to an intentional weight loss, which I’ve never done in my entire life. As I, as you heard in my story, all I wanted was mental freedom. And so when I wanted to go to an intentional weight loss, I started looking up some people that were carnivore based. And I just said, let me try this again. It’s just this try tweak, try, let me try this for a month. Let me try it for a month. Let’s see how it goes. And so now here I am. I’m at a weight that I feel so comfortable with. I just love my body. I feel so strong. Everything feels great. I’m like eight pounds heavier than I was when I first started. I don’t, I, that is like neither here nor there. Because I do know a big portion of that is muscle or is lean weight. And you guys, I only weigh myself and measure because number one, out of curiosity and number two, because I like to experiment with myself. But it’s a freedom to do that because once you’re released from being controlled or emotional eating, your body and your food can be a playground for fun to try different experiments. So I just feel free to do that and it’s exciting. A couple benefits from going meat based has number one been gut healing. Number two, my hormones have always been not fab, and my part of that is maintaining bone density, and I have this fun scale that tells me how much my bones are, how much my bones weigh, and I gain 10 percent of bone mass. Rochelle: Denise: Rochelle Denise: Rochelle: And I’m like, yeah, my pants fit, but the scale tells me I’m so much heavier than I was before. And like you, I don’t have a fancy scale that tells me that I gained bone mass and lean mass, but I can see it. I can see the recompositing that happened. And I had to gain weight in order to have a healthy pregnancy, which I think you’re talking about, like getting a cycle and all that kind of stuff. But I just think it’s so interesting how people are almost a little bit dismissive of the fact that they’re gaining lean mass and bone density. As you get older, that’s going to be really critical. Like we have the saying in our community when we’re 80, we want to be able to go to the toilet by ourselves. Denise: Rochelle: Denise: And I also use it for my clients because I want to be able to tell them. Hey, you know what you gained or what you lost, it’s this much lean weight or this much fat weight. And it’s really important for them because sometimes when they just get on the scale and they’re losing weight and if it’s just lean weight, no, now we need to adjust. We need to make sure your diet has even more protein in it, more nutrients. But I would just suggest if one has that fear and they don’t have a mindset coach, they don’t have somebody who can help them invest the 30 bucks in getting the fancy scale so that you can see, because that really helped me also to be like, Oh, 22 pounds. Oh, but this much of it was more bone, more tissue, and I’m not going to say it’s all muscle, but it’s lean weight. It’s my body getting stronger. It’s in my organs. It’s in me, and I can’t even describe to you where it all goes, but being a science based person really gave me so much peace. Rochelle I didn’t have children at the time, but the same as you my husband would be in the other room he’d be absorbed in, watching something or doing something, and I would be like, how much can I binge while he’s doing that activity? So he doesn’t have to know, and I think it’s so interesting for me to reflect back on that and see how the adversary has used that as a tool of isolation. And anything done in secret will be brought to light. And I’ve had to repent of all of that stuff and really seek the Lord and all of that. And I’m just curious I remember having this conversation with you, but I want you to share about it. At what point did you experience the food freedom? Denise: But so when we first started and the protocol was to eat till you’re comfortably stuffed. And there was just a point where I think like within two and a half to three weeks, I’m like, this just feels too much. This feels too much. And I remember meeting with you and you were like trust yourself then that’s fine. That’s fine. And then at the point when I first started carnivore, I was still having a few un carnivore things like I would use heavy whipping cream and stevia and cocoa and make this like thing, right? Just imagine it’s whatever you want to call it in a cup and I could eat it with my spoon and you had shared your story. So when I first started seeing you, you had shared, which was six weeks into my carnivore journey, you had shared your story about “How you had always had something sweet or there was just adding sweeteners,” and then just one day you were like what if I don’t? And you just felt like I’m just gonna maybe not right now, and it, and you didn’t put any we’re not doing this. It wasn’t like shaking your finger at you, but it was that gentle what if. Rochelle: Denise: And one day became two and three and then several weeks. And then there was one time something happened where I was like, I think I want to have that again. And I think I did. And then that was it and moved on. And I just remember you saying, it sounds like food freedom. And I was like, Oh, it is. Here’s how you know if you’re in food freedom or not. You’re in food freedom if you enjoy the thing and you enjoy it and then you move on. With the women I work with, I call things chaos foods. And so the chaos food is not the specific food, but it’s the effect that it has on you. Which would not be food freedom. Which it’s funny because now I can have the same thing and I, it’s not chaos, but before it was causing me chaos here’s how you know it. You’re thinking about it. You’re not willing to not have it. You’d probably get out of bed to go eat it or you’d go to the store to buy it. If you don’t have it, when you’re eating it, you’re thinking of the next time that you can eat it or you’re craving it. Or when you eat it, it causes you to want to eat so like you have I’m going to have a bowl of X, but one bowl isn’t enough. So it causes you to want more X. Or it triggers you to even eat more food and more food. So that’s just, doesn’t it sound like chaos? Rochelle: That’s the best way I’ve ever heard it described. It’s a chaos food because the chaos that occurs before the thing, the food, and then the chaos that occurs afterwards, it’s like, and it’s so detrimental because that’s what kept me in the cycle. Because I think I, for me, and this is just me sharing honestly and openly, I think that I got addicted to that high in the crash, high in the crash, high in the crash. I was more addicted to the high than the crash, but then that also made me binge more close together so that the crash was never as hard. Have you found that with your clients? Have you found that with yourself? Denise: Rochelle: There are still times where I’m like, Oh, I’m thinking about food a little more than I normally would. What is going on? What is percolating inside of me? And, usually I go to the Lord in prayer about it and I’m like, okay, God, where am I at with this? And it’s just he’ll open the, he’ll open the door and I can see. And I’m like, Oh, I haven’t thought about that in a while. Okay. And then I go and I journal and I, I pray about it and I seek scripture and I worship the Lord. And then it’s And he removes that. Do you find that too? Denise: Okay but what I find is that sometimes I’ll have feelings and I can do the mind work and be like, Ooh, what’s underneath of that. And sometimes I don’t and This is how good God is two or three weeks ago I saw myself eating away that I didn’t want to. I was eating more food than I wanted but here’s the beautiful thing you guys the lord never allows anything unless he can transform it to good. So the next day I just sat with him and I was like, hey What was that about? Let’s talk about it. And he gave me this beautiful tool on how to reflect so that he, and he asked me these questions that I now have a tool that I share with people that, that help you process, see the truth. Because when we’re in our tornado thinking, like you said, the chaos, all we’re thinking is the chaos and the chaos, it helps pull us from the chaos. And then watch it, watch what happened, like a football coach would with film. And then this and this, there’s no judgment in that, we’re just looking at, and the Lord is the coach, right? He’s, do you see this? See how you were scared right there. You didn’t plan your dinner. Did you see how your brain was just scared and it was just thinking, Oh no, what are we going to have? Do you see? So the point was I was able to sit with the Lord. He asked me some questions and then coming out of that, I had clarity, which only comes from the Lord. I had clarity and direction. He told me what he’d like to do next, but guess what? I didn’t sit there in that tornado thinking and start going, Oh, I need to go back to carnivore a hundred percent carnivore. I need to like, make my favorite. See that’s like stress planning. Never gets to the root that never solves a thing, but being willing to walk in and say, Lord, help me understand this more. That’s, that is, that’s his work. And for all of you listening, if it’s God’s voice, because you feel clear and peaceful. And what he tells you is simple. It might not be easy, right? Like he kept saying, Denise, I want you to stay in this. I want you to stay with that carnivore journey. And I’m like, okay, it’s all right. All right. We can do this. And he gives you conviction. He never rushes you. He never hurries you. It doesn’t feel like pressure. Rochelle And I’m speaking for myself, I was gripped by my addictions to food and to sweets and to carbs and volume eating and all of those things. That to me was restrictive and to find the freedom that I have now to have the thing, whatever the thing is, without going crazy, like you described, is, that is peaceful to me, that brings me, clarity of mind, I feel secure in that, and I just want to get your perspective on this. When you see people breaking free of that diet culture narrative, like you just said, they’re just you didn’t automatically assume, no, I have to go back to strict carnivore. What did that feel like for you? Denise: The Lord’s calling you to something else, but guaranteed if you’re looking at carnivores or I don’t know, maybe you’re not looking at carnivores at all, but let me just say this. I believe this is how life goes. We are meant to walk in peace, and anything that steals our peace, we’re meant to face it, look at it, work through it, remove it, and what I mean by that is if you’re struggling with SIBO, your intestine, and it’s like stealing your peace, the fatigue is crazy. Then the Lord’s yeah, how long are you going to live like that? I want you to do something about it. Rochelle And she was like, Oh, this will be really helpful. And I would drink that down. It was awful. I would drink it down. And then within a half an hour, I would be the most wretched smelling person in the room. I couldn’t contain my gas. My belly was so distended. And like I would have to run to the bathroom for the next two hours. It was just so awful. And I know everyone’s SIBO experience is different, but it’s still the same thing. And if you don’t know what SIBO is, it’s small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. And mine was self induced because I was drinking tons of probiotic drinks, probably too many of them. Kombucha and kefir and all those kinds of things. And that is what contributed to my SIBO. But it was also because I had been on medication because I got sick. And so your good bacteria was out of balance with the bad bacteria. And it was just a whole slew of events. And I just would not wish that upon anybody. At all and Denise, I wanted to ask you as we draw to the end of our time together. Can you share a little bit about what tips you would offer someone or how you would encourage them if they’re thinking about carnivores or going meat based? What would you tell them? Denise: And can I just say one thing about families? Rochelle Denise: Rochelle Denise: Rochelle Denise: Just remember, there is no right way to eat. The only thing that’s best for you is what’s best for you, and you get to experiment and try what works for you in this season of your life. And remember, this season might be today, it might be a week, it might be a year, but wherever you find yourself today, trust that you do know what works best for you. All right, everybody, have a blessed day.
Thank you so much for coming today.
Hi, thank you. Thanks for the invitation, this is so exciting.
Thank you for being here. I would love to start. How are you today? How are you?
I have a very back to back day. So a very full day of meeting with people and of doing some creation of some workbooks and programs, and I’m doing really well. I’m in that like to plan my day and one of the things that I hope that your audience can start taking away is that you can have very full days. And part of my plan is where am I fitting? Where am I going to fit me in? And as we started 10 minutes later, I asked if we could start later because that allowed me to sit and eat my breakfast, chewing my food slowly.
I love it. I love it. Can you tell us a little bit about who you are? Who is Denise Jelinek?
Okay, so oh gosh, let’s just do the cliff notes version of this. I grew up in a family with zero faith. I didn’t come to my faith until I was already married. My husband wanted to get married in a church and I was like, that’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Why would you get married in a church? You don’t even go to church. As we all know, the Lord pursues us always and you cannot outrun the Lord.
Okay. That’s awesome. 10 percent bone mass. Wow.
Yeah. By doing nothing. Because I wasn’t exercising during that like weight gain part and part of what I gained and I’ll tell you 70 percent of what I gained was lean weight.
Isn’t that amazing? 70 percent of what you gained was lean weight. And just looking at you as you’re, talking with your hands and your arms, I’m like, you have the most beautiful sculpted arms and shoulders. They’re gorgeous.
Yeah. God gave them to me. Yeah.
Yes, he did. He blessed you with great genetics. Yes, but I love that you recognize the weight gain and I know I relate to you on so many levels with this, as a recovered restrictive binge eater, as a sugar addict, as a carb addict, as a volume eater. I relate to you on so many levels of this. I was terrified to gain weight too. Absolutely. Horrified I was like, oh, what do you mean apt gain weight because I worship vanity I still do and this is my sin that I have to go to the Lord about every single day There’s still like that little residue of me that still wants to worship vanity and still wants to focus on it.
Oh my gosh. I say that all the time. It’s so funny. Yeah.
Yeah. I’m like, I don’t want to be 80 years old and have a walker and someone has to give me one of those fancy electric seats that lowers me onto the toilet so I can void my bladder. Heck no! I want to be lean, I want to be strong, and I want to be healthy, and I want to be happy.
Yeah. And Rochelle, I really encourage, as crazy as this sounds, and we don’t want to be stuck on the scale, and we always say don’t stay on the scale, but for me with an exercise science background, for me with, I need to know the truth of having that fancy scale, that’s under 30 bucks. I use Arbo leaf scale with an app.
I love that you mentioned that as well. There’s, what was it specifically that you said? Oh, about not knowing where all of the nutrition goes. A big part of that in your case. And in my case it was healing. That was a huge place where my body had to become more efficient at utilizing nutrients because for me I wasn’t restricting myself and then binge eating on garbage which was my tendency.
When you and I started, philosophical and how I make every everything about what the Lord wants to teach me and I’m like, Rochelle, I’m pretty sure the Lord wants to teach me about detachment from my thin body detachment from what other people want. And detachment from, there was like three things. I don’t know, maybe I think it was probably coffee, which hasn’t happened, but that’s because I still choose to have it.
Okay I don’t know. What do we try?
And by hearing you say with that compassion and that gentleness, I thought why don’t I try that? And so these like sweet pieces, sweet moments, sweet foods that I’d been gripping onto like this. I was like, Oh what if I just opened my hands? What could happen? And, so of course this is where it’s fun to have a coach because you have somebody to celebrate with you and you can be like, Oh, I didn’t have any sweeteners today.
It’s a hundred percent chaos. It’s absolutely chaos and I love that you actually describe it that way because that’s how I felt internally when I would be dealing with these feelings. And I’m sure that’s how you felt internally. There’s literally this chaos that’s just swirling around. It’s like a tornado that’s just like ripping around and just like uprooting things.
That’s the way that you described it as a physical sensation. I’ve never heard someone describe it that way. What I hear is they’re using that food to cope. And so what they’re really running from are those feelings.
Yeah, it’s much easier to eat your feelings or to squash them down or cover them up with food than it is to actually sit with them, look at them, address them. And I see this all the time and I saw this in myself too. And I know that when those feelings come, Things come up.
I want to say, and for all of the people, women listening who are like, Oh yeah, I really want to get to that Rochelle. So I told you I’m 10 years working this food recovery thing every single day, you guys. Every day and I do it every day because I love my life and I have to. I just said asking Rochelle to start 10 minutes later so I could sit and eat my food slowly because that’s important to my recovery, not rushing through food.
I just want to touch on diet culture as we get to the end of our time together today. Diet culture to me has always been, okay you do this until it stops working and then you do something more drastic and something more drastic and more extreme and more extreme. And a lot of people look at the carnivore diet and they think it’s extreme. But I don’t think they look at how extreme it was to be, gripped by your addictions.
Yeah. It’s just a self trust you guys. It’s coming up and being like you, I love you. It looks like we want to make some changes. Yeah. And then just coming up right next to you. What do you think you’re ready to do? What would you like? Let’s just like walking with you and trusting you. And it’s that whole I’ve got me with my arm here and then the Lord’s here. And we’re just, we’re doing this together. We don’t have to condemn ourselves. It doesn’t have to be hard. It’s not critical. It just feels gentle and it feels easy. And for the people who say carnivores are extreme. Maybe it is for you in this stage of your life. That’s cool. That just means you’re not ready or you haven’t been called to this journey. It is literally a calling.
Yeah, I agree with you. And I wrestled with SIBO for a long time. And I actually resolved, I was able to resolve it before carnivores, praise the Lord. But I just, I can’t imagine going into into any sort of diet, if you will, with having to go through that again, because, did exactly what you said, it robbed me of my joy, it robbed me of my freedom, and the people the nutritionists that I was working with at the time, I loved her, but she was like, oh, you just need to eat, lots of vegetables and whatever, and I would literally puree, it was pineapple, coconut milk, lettuce and something else.
If you’re thinking about it, I would say just go online. You are going to resonate with someone and just be curious. Just notice your thoughts when you’re like, Ooh, that wouldn’t work because ABC. Okay. That’s cool. Don’t shut it down. Just be curious and open to the journey. And I honestly believe that you’re going to be led to a community, to a coach, to something that’s exactly what you need.
Yes, please. Please. Please.
Because you were talking to me about how you talk to your husband about it? How do you talk to my family? Since I’ve been in food recovery, we will sit around the table and have dinner together, we have four of us and we are all eating four different things. Just because we’re eating different food does not mean that we’re not a family. In the beginning it was, I was cooking lots of food for myself and it felt Oh, I’m being selfish. But I had to deal with that mindset, but I knew I needed to take care of myself. It was a lot of cooking in the beginning. I don’t think it has to be. I just, that’s what I chose to do. And in terms of talking to my husband, he did not understand. And he kept telling me, I’m so worried. I’m so worried, but my friends, that’s his journey, but I can still, my job is to take care of me. And what I’m told to do.
And our job so it’s to be obedient. Yeah.
And we don’t have to pressure our family to eat that way either.
No. And I love that you touched on that. And I think that’s really important. I think it’s great to be an example, for how we would like other people to maybe consider eating, but I don’t think it has to be a dog the only way that we eat.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this insight into the carnivore diet between Rochelle and me and have gleaned something that the Holy Spirit wanted you to learn. I will link Rochelle’s information in the show notes. I will also link to the tool that I described about what the Lord revealed to me after I had overeaten as well as the fancy scale that I mentioned that shows you what your lean weight is versus your fat weight.
