Let’s talk about getting back on track after summer. So I’m releasing this as a bonus episode podcast because it’s right at the tail end of August. In fact, this is coming out on the Friday, the very last Friday, the very last weekend in August, and I’m assuming that a lot of your summer plans have already come to fruition, and you might have something coming up in Labor Day. But chances are you’re already thinking, “Oh, what am I gonna do after summer?”
So the question isn’t, am I going to get back on track after summer? The question is, what am I gonna do? And so I want to provide that answer for you. Because probably what’s been happening all summer long is you have been thinking, “I’m gonna get back on track after,” fill in the blank, some event. And you think, “Once that event is over, then I’ll get back on track. Then I’ll get back to,” whatever.
And then the next event is right around the corner. And so it just becomes a whole summer of next things, next things, next things, where you really think, “You know what? Forget it. I’ll just wait until fall.” And right now you’re probably thinking, “But what am I going to do?” And I want to provide that answer for you. See, our brains love predictability.
So having a really full, fun summer, on one hand, your heart is very full and it’s been amazing, and on the other, you’re just searching for routine. But I wanna tell you, this could be the last summer that you feel so off, because I’m going to tell you about how to get back on track after summer, but in a way that even next summer you will feel like you’re on track the whole summer, even though you’ll still have a very full, fun, spontaneous summer next summer.
Because what’s happened is you’ve probably only had some very strict, rigid rules that would qualify as being on track, and I wanna offer you that there’s a different way. There’s a different way that you can be on track in the spontaneity of life, in the vacations of life, in the celebrations of life, and that is not what will only get you to your healthy weight, but that is the key to being able to maintain your healthy weight.
So let’s talk about the flexibility part. Yesterday, I just announced and released, and the doors are open to the Weight Loss with the Holy Spirit Fall Reset. Now, the fall reset is four daily disciplines, and these four daily disciplines are so darn flexible. They’re so doable. They’re so simple that they ebb and flow with you and fit your life no matter what season of life you’re in, including summer, including fall, including holidays.
So the fall reset that I’m running will not only get you back on track, but it will keep you on track because it is that flexible. So the next question is, your brain is thinking, “Wait, that sounds too easy.” Yeah. The thing is that you’ve been making weight loss way too hard. What you’ve been trying to do is to follow someone else’s rules, to follow someone else’s food, to do a plan that someone else said, “This might be good for you.”
But no one’s ever taught you the real reason that you’re overweight. The real reason you can’t be at your healthy weight is because you’ve been trying to use someone else’s method. What you really need is to be able to know how to live the life you currently have at a healthy weight.
To take the taste that you have, your favorite foods, your preferences, the demands of your life, your vocation, whatever season of life you’re in, whatever state of life you’re in, whatever job you have or don’t have, the kids you have or don’t have, the husband you have or don’t have.
You need to know how to care and support yourself in this season of your life. Be healthy in this season. And that’s what those four daily disciplines allow you to do. They teach you how to be healthy in this season of your life, and then when you move to the next season or transition to the next season, it teaches you that as well.
Okay? Now, another question that comes up a lot, and especially because of the popularity of weight loss medications, is Denise, how do your four daily disciplines work with a medication? Well, what the four daily disciplines do is they teach you how to care and support yourself in the life that you have now.
Now, if you’re taking a weight loss medication, what it may be doing is quieting some food noise, which is amazing and how awesome. But I want you to remember that if you will ever come off of that medication, that what you’re experiencing now is temporary and partial. And none of you started a weight loss medication to have temporary or partial results.
We want to have something that is complete and permanent. And so whether you’re on a medication or off a medication, the skills that you’ll learn doing these four daily disciplines on how to care and support yourself are the skills that will be necessary when you come off the medication. This is what you will need to learn so that you can maintain the results that you’ve had with the weight loss medication.
So now or later, if you don’t want rebound weight gain, you’re going to have to learn these four daily disciplines. And why not learn them now while you’re on a medication? Why not start uniting your food and weight struggles to the Lord now? Seems like a brilliant idea to me.
And finally, all of this work, this fall reset will not only get you back on track to get you to your healthy weight and be able to maintain it, but one of the most surprising things to women after they do my program that we’re doing during the fall reset is they say, “I feel so much closer to the Lord.” They have a deeper relationship, a deeper reliance on the Lord, and they didn’t expect that, and I think that’s what’s super fun.
And you know if you’ve been listening to this podcast for a while, we always keep coming back to the only reason we do this work is to glorify Him, because He wants us to be healthy, because He wants nothing to separate us from Him. Not food, not the horrible things we’re saying about our body, not the negative things that we think about our pant size, not the scale. God wants to be our God.
And why not do a fall reset where the Lord is center? He is front and center of this entire fall reset. Every single time you do one of the four daily disciplines, you are giving Him an act of worship. You are glorifying Him.
So when you have that question, how do I get back on track after summer? I want you to know the answer is sitting right in front of you. Right in front of you. The link to sign up is in the description.
And if you wanna get back on track in a way that actually fits for your life, that is flexible enough for you to still have fun, to have spontaneity, to where you can still live your life. I’ve had women say, “You know, if losing weight means I have to stop living, I don’t wanna lose weight.
I’ll just deal with what I have now.” And I wanna tell you can have all of that. You can be at your healthy weight, keep the life you have, and deepen your relationship with the Lord. And that sounds like a win-win-win to me.
So please join us. We start September 9th. It’s $97, and we run 63 days, two months of the fall reset, and by the end, my goodness, you will feel reset, and this will be a way that you will never ever ever want to stop living. That’s the other thing women tell me.
First, they’re surprised at how close they feel to the Lord, and second is they say, “I never wanna stop doing this.” And you know that you’ve never had a plan like that before. You know you’ve always wanted to get to goal weight so you can stop doing it. So give yourself that gift and join us September 9th.
