Today I want to teach you how to know whether or not you’re ready to lose 10 pounds. And if you are ready to lose 10 pounds, then I have a special invitation for an exciting workshop to teach you how to do that.
So the three things that you need to consider to determine if you are ready to lose 10 pounds are your level of readiness, your level of willingness, and your level of ability. Now listen, before you turn this off and think that you have heard this all before, just stick with me. You might learn something new because I doubt you’ve heard this.
Ready simply means, hey, listen, you have come to the conclusion in your life that you don’t want to keep living the way that you have and that you’d like to do something different. That what you’ve been doing just really isn’t working for you. Part of this is just that D O N E, I’m just done.
I like to call it the gift of desperation. And this is that gift where you have. Run out of ideas and you’re not willing to continue the way that you have before and you’re pretty much willing to do anything else and I love this because I really feel this is where the Lord puts us flat on our back And we say we have no other ideas you take it.
He loves that He loves a surrendered soul. I believe that’s where the Lord can do the most amount of work in a surrendered soul. The second thing is your willingness, your level of willingness that you can think of as being open to looking at the possibilities or just willing to try.
Now you might have some apprehension, but you’re not letting that fear stop you. You want to walk forward. You want to make progress even in the face of fear. And listen, you need to realize that self doubt is a normal part of changing and growing. I also want to remind you that our brains do hate change.
So let’s just take a little review on our brain’s job. Our brain’s job is to do the thing that’s easy, comfortable, and safe. Easy, comfortable, and safe. Easy means that it conserves energy. Comfortable means that it’s always seeking the fun thing, the pleasurable thing.
And your brain wants to keep you safe, because it doesn’t want you to die. So just know that changing doesn’t feel easy. Changing doesn’t feel comfortable. And changing doesn’t feel safe. Fear of failure feels horrible. , but you are saying, I’m willing to walk forward because I want to make progress.
Remember that if the Lord is leading you to something, he will give you the strength to walk through there. And I believe that willingness is a way underrated characteristic, because if you give the Lord a crack of willingness, he will throw the door open.
And give you his strength to follow through on whatever he’s led you to. All right, now let’s talk about being able what do you need to lose 10 pounds? You need a simple system that suits this season of your life. And what I mean by this season of your life is the unique schedules obstacles, circumstances in this season of your life, who you are now, the life you have now, your tastes now, and where you have support. So it’s those three things. You have a simple system that number two suits this season of your life. And number three gives you support. So if you’re saying to yourself, wow, Denise, yes, I am ready.
I want to learn a new way. I want to be a woman of possibility. I want a system that suits this season of my life. Your brain might be saying. Is that even possible? Okay, so let’s talk about that. So listen everybody, if you love that thought, hey it’s totally impossible to lose weight over the holidays, and that gets you the result that you want, then you can totally stick with that.
Just know that you have now removed yourself from the willing group. You are no longer willing to lose 10 pounds because you are shutting off that possibility. But have no fear, you can move back into the willing group anytime. Let me just show you how powerful your thoughts are. Because when we believe, oh my gosh, that’s impossible.
We put on those impossible glasses. We become very dismissive. We might even feel defeated even before we begin. And what happens when we have that feeling of dismissing that or feeling oh, that’s not even possible for me. There’s things that we start doing and not doing.
Likely you will keep the belief that it’s impossible and you’ll shut down or you’ll stop listening. What you won’t be doing You won’t be even considering that this is possible. You won’t even be trying. And you won’t even start. And so by keeping that thought, that’s impossible, having that thought in your mind, will lead to the result of you literally making it so it is impossible for that to even potentially happen.
I just wanted to show you that. If you think that it’s impossible, you will make it so that it is impossible. Instead, let me offer something to you. Maybe you could say, I’m just not ready for this. And I give you permission to not be ready to lose 10 pounds over the holidays.
I 100 percent give you permission to do that. But just know that’s the truth. Because it is possible. There’s a group of women who will be losing 10 pounds over the holidays. It can happen. These are women who will not only be losing 10 pounds but thoroughly enjoying their holidays. I just want you to know that it is possible and it’s totally fine to just be honest and love yourself exactly where you are, if you choose to shut this down, what I want for you is to just love your reason for why, you shut this down, you aren’t broken, it’s not impossible for you to learn how to do this.
You can do it. It is possible. You just might not be ready. And that’s okay, but what if it were possible? What if it were possible to eat the foods that you love but not get overstuffed? To happily know when you’ve had enough? To feel in control around all the mounds of food around the holidays? What if that were possible?
Let me show you what hope and possibility will get you. What if you were willing to say, instead of that it’s impossible to say to yourself, I’m a woman who’s open to new ideas. What would a woman who’s open to new ideas do? What would that look like? What if you could start saying to yourself, I’m open to what’s possible for me.
When you say to yourself, I’m open to what’s possible for me, you put on the possibility glasses. You start to become open. You become curious. And we know that a woman who is open and curious will do some things And not do other things. Likely a woman who is open and curious would be open to learning how this is possible.
Might even be open To experimenting and one of my favorite things that I teach women is to just have a try tweak attitude. Let’s try it. It might work. It might not. Let’s try it. And what works, we keep. What didn’t really work, we tweak. Try and tweak. But a woman who is curious and open. She’s not gonna shut it down.
She’s not gonna give up. She’s going to be curious. She’s gonna be open. She’s going to keep trying. Because simply saying, I’m open to seeing what’s possible for me, you will make it you allow what’s possible for you to happen, to occur. That is what a woman who is ready and willing can do.
