Hi, everybody. Welcome back to the podcast. Have you ever been so consumed by what the scale says that you are just so preoccupied and can’t get it out of your brain? Have you been so preoccupied with the calorie count, maybe the mental calculator of calories in, calories out, all the macros? Or maybe you just can’t get over that you are wearing the size bigger pants today. Maybe you’re wearing your fat pants.
So this is what I like to call a scale spiral type, which essentially means you get all the numbers in your head and they start to really preoccupy you. So if you haven’t taken our free quiz at weightlosswiththeholyspirit.com, go over there. You can take the free quiz to find out what your hidden spiral type is and what really is sabotaging your weight loss. Okay.
But today, I’m doing this episode all on the numbers, the numbers that get into your brain. So what I found is that the three numbers that really usually mess up women are the scale, their pant size, and then the whole food rules thing. There’s the calories, the macros, maybe it’s fat grams, maybe it’s carb grams, you get it. Whatever you’re currently following. Maybe it’s hours of intermittent fasting. Whatever the number is.
And so I’m going to approach each one of these topics separately, but we just need to know overarching the truth is that there’s something in your brain that believes that once you have that number, whether it’s the number on the scale, the magic clothing size, or the appropriate amount of macros, fat grams, calories, whatever.
Your brain believes that that will be when you’re okay. That you will be safe then. That you will magically feel something different then. Because we only want something truly because we think it will make us feel a certain way. And until we get to that end goal, it just feels very graspy because now we’re chasing it.
Now we’re chasing this magic number, and your brain believes that you can only stop chasing it, or you can only be happy, or you can only be nice and kind to yourself, or that you’re doing it right, or you’ll finally be able to eat the food you actually like if you are at the magic pant size, if you are at whatever your scale should say.
I’m calling it the right size, whatever your brain thinks the right size is, and all of you know that you’ve never actually been at that size. And how do I know you’ve never been at that size and that it’s not getting you what you want is because you can look at pictures and say, “Ooh, I looked really good in that picture.” You can say that now looking back at those pictures 15, 20 years ago, 10 years ago, and you weren’t satisfied then.
So your body is not the problem, but your brain believes right now that until your body’s the right size, whatever that is, the scale says the right thing, your pants are whatever size they should be, that until then, we’re just gonna keep chasing the number.
Until then, we’re going to keep grasping for a number. Until then, we’re going to be hard on ourselves and motivate ourselves. Until then, I’m going to make sure that I eat in a restricted way. Until then, we’re not doing it right. And all of that is just secular dieting.
So I want you to leave here, with knowing what to do instead. Because the truth is the easiest answer for all of that is that you simply have to stop making that number mean anything. Stop making the number mean that you’re doing it right. Stop making the number mean that it’s okay to eat the foods that I like. Stop making the number mean that now I’m happy, that all of my life’s problems are over. Just stop making the number mean so much.
And I know all of you are thinking, “But I have no idea how to do that.” And that’s what this podcast is here for. The podcast is to show you that you can stop making the number mean that you’re okay, that you’re doing the right thing, that you’re good enough, that you’re worthy, that you’re safe now, that you’re accomplished.
And the way that we do that, there’s a thousand different ways we could attack this, but I thought I want to give you something very, very simple to take away from this podcast. The first one is that you just have to simply be open to considering there is a different way. There’s a different way than secular dieting.
And you know that because it all feels very out of order, doesn’t it? When we look at it as a Catholic, so it won’t make sense to you if you have on your secular dieting glasses. But if you put on your glasses of being a Catholic woman who loves the Lord, this will all make sense.
Because when we are chasing the scale, the pant size, or the perfect number of calories, macros, et cetera, we are making that a false god, which means we’re putting it above what God says. And our God is a God of order. Our God is a God of order, which means that he wants to be the God of our life, and then he tells us who we are, and we’re worthy because we’re his.
And when we take God out of his place and put the scale, the pant size, the magic macros, calories, whatever, and say, “Oh, that’s what’s telling us if we’re worthy, if we’re okay, if we’re doing the right thing,” then that becomes a false god.
So simply hearing that and it making sense to your brain tells me that you are open to considering that perhaps you can be free of being chained by these numbers. The first one is openness. The first thing you need to do is be open.
And the second thing is I just want you to start noticing that you actually do this, that you actually are using brain space on the scale, that you’re having mind drama about which pair of pants you put on and the size. And I also want you to notice if you’re doing the calorie counting, the mental calculator.
So simply notice it and at the same time you’re noticing it, you’ve got to say, “Of course I’m doing this. Of course. Of course I’m doing this.” I’ve had years, if not decades, of conditioning. A lot of the women that I work with were put on diets in their formative years.
Either a loving family member thought they would help that person, maybe it was a physician, and sometimes the women were put on these diets and they didn’t think there was anything wrong with their body.
Now, sometimes the women thought in their teen or preteen years, they felt like there was something wrong with their body. But what’s even more shocking is when you don’t think there’s anything wrong with your body as a preteen or a teenager, and someone is telling you there’s something wrong with your body.
And the solution then is to be the magic number on the scale, or to follow these certain food rules, or to wear a certain pant size. So let’s just recognize that we’ve had years and decades of conditioning to believe that this is a good thing, that we should be this certain size. We’ve had many doctors telling us we should be a certain weight.
And side note, when women ask me, “What is a healthy weight?” I say, your healthy weight is when you are eating in harmony with your body, when you’re, eating moderately, eating when you’re hungry, stopping when you’re full, and when you’re moving regularly. And I’m not saying strenuous exercise, I’m just saying regular activity.
So when you’re doing those two things, your weight will be whatever your healthy weight is because you’re living healthfully. Healthful lifestyles create a healthy weight. Now, all of us wish we could simply move more and eat when we’re hungry and stop when we’re full, but that’s why I have the work that I have, because none of us can.
There are many other complicated layers sometimes to uncover to recondition the brain. And I don’t say many layers to uncover, I’m just saying years and decades of believing the scale is the magic thing, you’ve got to be a certain pant size or certain calories or macros.
So step two is noticing that you do it and of course invalidating that. You’ve been living your life not wrong at all. You’ve just not been introduced to the idea that it could be different. Okay, then the third thing is really where we start to get to work, is noticing what you’re making it mean. What are you making that scale mean?
All you have to do is get on the scale, look at the number, and notice what’s happening in your brain or how you feel, and we’re gonna get to that in a second. Notice how you feel or what you’re thinking when you put on a bigger pant size or when you go down a pant size. Notice, like if you have a food tracker, if you stay within the macros, how you feel, and if you don’t stay within the macros, how you feel. So just start to notice what you’re making it mean.
And then number four is where we put a lot of our time and focus in any of the programs we do at Weight Loss with the Holy Spirit, and that is addressing the real problem. Because the real problem is that your peace is being stolen. The real problem is that you don’t have peace in a certain area.
Maybe you don’t have peace in your body with the thoughts that you have about your body. Maybe you don’t have peace somewhere. So what I like to say is, here’s you now, and then, put your hand out in front of you, and there is you at your ultimate most restored, most ordered self, and that’s when you are having your healthy relationship with food. That’s when you are at your healthy weight. That’s where you have that balance.
And the only thing standing in the way of where you are now to where you are going are two things. It’s either a thought pattern or a behavior pattern, and that is it. You’re believing something or you’re doing something that’s leading you away from feeling peaceful, and so we just address that.
The majority of the women that I work with usually have some sort of food pattern that they are not feeling pleased with. They’re either overeating or maybe in a binge restrict cycle, or maybe they’re either all in or all out, which is a thought pattern, believing if I can’t do it perfect, which is the next podcast that I’m gonna do, if I can’t do it perfectly, then I’m not going to do it at all.
Or they could be in the thought pattern of they see themselves mess up, and then they give up. That’s, again, a thought pattern. A behavior pattern is something where. Oh, in another thought pattern. Maybe they’re all thought patterns.
Another thought pattern is not allowing yourself to eat any food unconditionally, that you believe that you have to only eat certain foods to be safe, so you’re in that binge restriction cycle. Remember, go back to that podcast that I did on the binge restriction cycle. The binge is not the problem. The restriction is.
But some behavior patterns are not being able to stop eating when you’re full, feeling the desire to clean your plate, eating food while you’re making a meal, eating food while you’re cleaning up a meal, eating food on autopilot, emotional eating, eating at the end of the night, fatigue eating. So those are some behavior patterns as well.
So just know that when we do number four, and number four is we address the real problem. Then you actually create peace in your life. Now we’re actually problem-solving because the problem isn’t that you’re wearing the wrong pant size. The problem isn’t what the scale says. The problem isn’t the calorie count or the macros.
The problem is that there is a thought or a behavior pattern that’s leading you away from peace, and so we address that so that you can have peace. And you know that’s exactly what’s necessary because that’s exactly what the Lord would say.
You guys, I want you to know that in the Surrender Novena, I believe it’s, oh, I wanna say day five or six, when the Lord says, “Oh, how much it pains me when you’re agitated or something like when the enemy agitates you because you are removed from my protection.
So that coupled with Father Jacques Philippe’s book, Searching For and Maintaining Peace, where he says there is no good reason to lose your peace. So we simply find where our peace is being stolen, where we’re losing our peace, and we address that. That is in general my process, but now I want to give you exact examples for each one of these.
Let me review the process. Number one, be open to considering that the Lord wants to restore you to order and He wants to be your God again. That is intentionally a long pause. God wants to be your God, not your pant size, not your calories, and not the scale. When we make God our God, we no longer chase anything else, because we know that we’re worthy because of him.
Now, that doesn’t mean that we don’t steward our bodies well, but stewarding our bodies is an act of worship because God is our God and he tells us how to care for ourselves. Stewarding our bodies is very different than chasing the scale to be a certain number, chasing a pant size, or the macro calorie food thing. Do you see the difference?
Caring for our bodies and addressing where our peace is being stolen, that’s because we’re stewarding our emotional wellbeing and our physical wellbeing. Totally different, and that’s what we’re gonna talk about right now.
So step one is just consider that God does want to restore you to order. He wants to be your God. Step two is just notice that when you’re doing it, and not make it a problem that you’re doing it, which doing it, thinking about the numbers. Of course, you’ve been conditioned over years and decades.
But number three, we get to say, “Ooh, yeah, and now what am I making that mean?” And then four, we’re going to address the real issue. Address the real issues, and it’s either a thought or a behavior pattern.
And why I say it’s either a thought or a behavior pattern is because listen to this. If you are currently not at your healthy weight, the only thing standing in the way of you being at your healthy weight is a thought or a behavior pattern, and I just went through a whole bunch. I’m not gonna say them again.
But what if you are at your healthy weight? If you’re at your healthy weight, then likely what’s standing in the way of you having peace is a thought pattern. You still believe that you should be a certain way, your body should look a certain way, the scale should say a certain thing for you to be okay.
And, I struggle with this. I really struggle with this, and I’m continuing to work on this. That I am at a healthy weight, and my brain often likes to tell me that my body doesn’t look okay.
And I cannot wait to do a podcast, because God has been revealing to me so much about I don’t like the word body acceptance, because I think that the culture has overdone body acceptance.
But what I like the word is just knowing that my body is just the perfect creation because He made it. And it is exactly what is necessary for my salvation. And I think that He’s really giving me allowing this discontent in my body at times so that I can really overcome this and teach you guys. And it feels like a gift when I say it like that. So more on that to come, ’cause I’m really working on just truly seeing myself through His eyes.
Okay. And a question I like to ask some women is when they say, “I’m doing all the right things, Denise. I make my Easy to Stick To Meal plan, and I haven’t lost any weight,” or, “I’ve, my weight’s stalled,” I have to ask them, “How do you know you’re not at your healthy weight?”
And usually it’s because their brain thinks they should be at a different weight. Isn’t that interesting? That you can be at your healthy weight, but your brain has believed it needs to be a different scale weight or in a different pant size. But you could seriously just be at your healthy weight and be having so much peace with the way that you’re eating.
And so then we just address the real problem. Remember, step four is address the real problem, which is then just your thoughts about your body and retraining your brain about your body.
So let’s dive into all of this. Okay. Let’s talk about our body. You guys, I’m 49. I started this work when I was 37. I’m gonna be 50 next year. My body has changed, and as I’ve gone into perimenopause, my body continues to change. And one of the changes is that my waist feels thicker.
And I find that so many advertisements and the talk in the world right now about perimenopause is about changing our body. We shouldn’t have this body. Let’s fight the perimenopause weight gain. Let’s reverse that.
And I think what I wanna say to that is why is it a problem? I’m a woman at my healthy weight. I’m a woman who is so committed to being active. I’m strength training at a level that I feel so protective of my bones. I feel so good about the commitment. I’ve spent the last year being very committed to the way that I feel that I’m taking care of my body physically.
And my body will naturally change. And when I think my body will naturally change and evolve, so I’m 49 years old, and I believe everyone’s gonna live to be 95. So do I want to spend the next 46 years of my life believing my body should look different? I really wanna ask you that. Do you want to live the next decades of your life believing that your body should be different?
And I understand a lot of women are not at their healthy weight, and we can solve for that. But I also want you to consider that natural changes that happen in your body, we can allow that to happen and work towards being at your healthy weight. When you go through perimenopause, when you go through menopause, your hormones shift in a way that your waist will widen.
It’s just because your estrogen is dropping. Some people would say it’s not inevitable. That’s totally fine. I’m just simply going to say, what if it happens to you that. it’s happening to me, and then what do I wanna do about that? Do I wanna fight it and believe it’s a problem, or do I want to create peace with my body? These are questions I want to ask you.
Because really body dissatisfaction is, what I’ve noticed is when we put our focus on truly caring for and stewarding our bodies well, which means we address the real issues, which for the women that I’m working with are usually we don’t like the way that we’re using food, we don’t like the way that we’re eating, it’s causing stress on us, or we’re turning to food when we’re stressed.
So let’s address the real issue. And just know that our bodies will naturally change. So let’s address our behavior patterns, which we do by creating that easy-to-stick-to meal plan. We do by giving ourselves unconditional permission to eat. And wherever your body is right now, you get to level yourself up by caring and supporting yourself wherever your body is right now. You can be kind and nice to your body right now.
So I was talking with someone recently, and I was talking about how I’d gained nearly 25 pounds when I did that gut-healing protocol, and how it really leveled up my self-care and my self-talk because I just refused to be unkind to myself. And this person said to me, “But don’t you like yourself better when you’re thinner?”
And I said, “I used to. That used to be something that I would do, and when I gained that 25 pounds, I noticed how attached I was to my thin body.” And I just said, “I refuse to be unkind to the body I’m living in now.” You guys, you have no idea how long you’re gonna be in the body that you have right now.
You’ll have it for the rest of your life, but at its current size, it’s just going to be what it is right now if your body’s not at its right size, then there’s something that we get to address, and your body is not the problem. The problem is a thought or a behavior pattern.
So can we care and support your body being where it is right now? And what I have found, truly, is that you dress to flatter your shape, and you dress comfortably. At least those are the two things that I do. And what I often hear women say is either, I don’t know how to do that, or, It’s gonna cost a lot of money, and I just wanna push back on that.
Because you can go on YouTube, you can use ChatGPT. You can say, I am a person who has this body shape. This is how much I weigh. You can even take a picture of yourself. How can I dress myself flattering? You could even go through your closet and say, these are the items of clothing that I have. How can I put them together in a flattering way?
Okay, so it is totally possible. Now, you might not want to do that, and that’s fine, but that it’s not possible. It’s just you don’t wanna take the time to. Let’s be real about that. And the second thing is to dress for comfort.
Now, when I gained that 25 pounds, I refused to squeeze myself into uncomfortable clothes, so I went to a thrift shop. You really only have to buy a few things. If you truly have nothing in your closet that fits, which is probably not true, you probably have many things in your closet that are comfortable, but you’re having mind drama and a thought pattern that thinks, I shouldn’t wear that, or those are my fat pants, or I don’t wanna wear that.
I refuse to put on comfortable clothes because then I’ll get lazy. Those are all just thoughts. Those aren’t even true. Because when we truly steward ourselves and we care for our bodies and we’re kind to ourselves, we can put on comfortable pants and not go eat our faces off just because we have comfortable pants on. We’re putting on comfortable pants so that we feel comfortable today.
So I really encourage women, no matter where you are in your food and weight struggles and in your journey, to simply dress in a way that feels flattering, where you feel pretty, and in a way that’s comfortable. And here’s how I know it’s not a problem to wear a bigger size.
So I don’t know when that was, two or three years ago, I bought new pants. I went to TJ Maxx, I bought some great jeans, and I bought some shorts on Amazon. And I’m gonna tell you, those are my favorite, favorite, favorite pairs of clothes to wear now. In fact, I think they fit well. I think they look great on me, and I love them.
And what’s so funny is I had so much mind drama when I bought them because they were, like, my fat pants, or these are the shorts that I’m wearing because I gained some weight. And now I’m like, “These look great. I love them.” I think they flatter me so well, and I have no drama about the size. Isn’t that funny? That’s how you know it’s just a thought pattern. It’s just a thought pattern.
So let’s go through the process. Number one, be open to considering that you can actually care and support your body in the current body that you have. Why? Because that’s how God would want you to treat your body. Number two, notice and validate that you have feelings about your body. Of course. We’ve had those feelings for a very long time.
Number three, notice what you’re making it mean. Notice what you’re making it mean. And number four, address the real problem. I want you to just care and support your body right now, today. Your body doesn’t have to change. Okay.
Let me move through the other thing. It’s so funny. My last note I’m reading this from notes, and my last note says, “Your body does not need to change for you to take care of it and for you to be nice. Let’s talk about the scale.
Again, let’s just validate that the scale has held so much power for so many women for so long, so much so that I find it’s easier to simply put the scale away. We’re going to be doing a fall reset in September, and part of that reset is we put the scale away. You can weigh in the beginning, and you can weigh at the end, but other than that, we put the scale away because it’s so distracting.
Now, you can learn to coach yourself through the scale, So you can get on the scale weekly. You can notice what you’re making it mean. But I really believe that for women who have struggled with the scale for so long, who find their safety and their worth in the scale for so long, of course, because especially in your formative years, you believe that you are okay and accepted if you are a certain size.
I truly would just put the scale away. Set it aside and focus on the real problems. Because if the scale was standing in the way of you being at your healthy weight, then you’d be there right now. Knowing your weight does not help you get to your healthy weight. I’m gonna say that again for the people in the back.
Knowing your weight does not get you to your healthy weight. Addressing the real issues is what’s getting you to your healthy weight. If you’re not willing to put the scale away, then I want you to start asking yourself some questions. Let’s just get curious when you step on the scale. What are you making it mean? Most people say, “I wanna know if I’m doing it right.”
So then the next question is, do you like that you’re making the scale mean you’re, if you’re doing it right? Do you like that? Do you like thinking that? And is it working? Is that effective for you?
Because if our thoughts truly create our results, if you have the thought, you know, you step on the scale and you get off and you think, “Ugh, it’s not working,” and you feel disappointed. What happens from that place of being disappointed is you probably start feeling depressed and low. You see other ways that you’re disappointed. You’re making the scale of God.
And you start criticizing yourself. What you’re not doing is you’re not looking at your progress, you’re not acknowledging the things that you are doing right. You’re not even thinking logically. You said it’s not working, but if you truly are doing, quote, all the things right, the scale would not potentially be able to detect that. Truly.
Because half of the work that we do, at least at Weight Loss with the Holy Spirit, is we’re just retraining your brain to stop impulse eating. And in one week, you probably won’t detect that change on the scale unless you were impulse eating quite a bit. And in that scheme, I really even say give yourself three to four weeks.
You’re not praying, you’re not calming down, you’re not recommitting to yourself. You’re just giving up on yourself, and you’re not caring and supporting yourself from that place of being disappointed. So if you have the thought it’s not working, the result is that continues to not work. It continues to not work. Isn’t that wild?
And the fruits that you’re bringing are not growth or learning or clarity. The fruits are simply stagnation and despair. I hope I’m making a pretty good case for you that at this point, just setting the scale aside is probably the easiest thing for you instead of learning how to coach yourself through stepping on the scale every week or every day like some women do.
And instead, I would encourage you to put your efforts into something that really matters, on the things that will truly get you to your healthy weight, on the things that truly are crucial for your salvation. And I say what’s crucial for your salvation because a lot of women, what’s holding up their relationship with the Lord is the reliance on food or making the scale a god.
And I know that sounds harsh, and I know it sounds normal, but we’re already countercultural as Catholics. We’ve got to make God our God, and we’ve got to let Him heal and restore and order us. And if you can set the scale aside, I have found most women find that to be the most effective and relieving way that this healing process can start. Okay. That’s the scale.
Now, what if you are someone who finds their safety and their worth in eating the right amount of calories or the macros or following the food rules? Again, of course you think that. You’ve been conditioned to believe that for decades, if not years. I have a whole podcast on food rules and how you can be free of them, and it explains just how food rules have just become a place of safety for your human brain.
I’m not gonna get into that, but let’s just validate it and say, of course you’re doing that. It makes a lot of sense. But secondly, I wanna ask you, what if you could trust your body? What if you could trust your body to know when you’ve had enough, to feel safe with stopping when you’re full?
What if God designed our bodies, the original design of our bodies, is for you to truly know what you need, when you need it, and how much you need. What if that’s the ultimate truth? I believe it is. I believe that he created us totally perfectly and in total sync with our bodies.
I just think that a lot of us have gotten super out of sync because of all of the conditioning with secular dieting and all the body stuff. But if he created us that way, then our work is to simply address the things that are standing in the way of us being so in connection with our bodies.
You’ve heard me talk about this on the podcast a lot. We’ve got to create safety in our bodies by giving ourselves unconditional permission to eat any food so that we’re not overeating food when we allow ourselves to eat it.
So by creating unconditional permission, I have talked about this a lot, that’s going to be a huge part of the fall reset that we’re doing in September. Especially if you’ve never given yourself unconditional permission and it feels very scary, we’re going to handle all of that in the fall reset. It’ll be really, really fun.
And I wanna offer something to you. What if being healed and restored, and when I say by healed and restored, what if you could have peace with food, you give yourself unconditional permission to eat any food, you know when you’re hungry, you give yourself food, you know when you’re full, you feel safe to stop. What if that were possible? Which it is.
But the cost is that you’re going to have to give up a lot of diet rules. Would you be willing to do that? What if the cost is in the beginning you may gain five pounds? Yeah, what do you think about that? What if I said, “You know what? You’re gonna have to gain five to seven pounds to learn this new way of living.”
But as you learn this new way of living, your weight will totally balance out and you will get to your healthy weight and you’ll be able to stay there for the rest of your life. Would you sacrifice five to seven pounds and getting rid of your food rules to live the next decades or years of your life, again, I believe everyone lives to 95, to get that?
And oh, by the way You would be moving toward becoming a saint. This work will be crucial for your salvation. Why? Because it will be restoring order to your relationship with food, your weight, your body, and you’ll be at your healthy weight for the rest of your life. Would you be willing? And a lot of women who do this work don’t gain weight.
But if you’ve been a real restrictor, I can see where it’s possible where the scale would go up. I mean, that’s why we don’t weigh ourselves, because we stay focused on the process. But would you be willing, if ultimately you get everything you want, you get your healthy weight, you get closer to the Lord, would you be willing to give up the food rules, and would you be willing to gain five to seven pounds?
I just think that’s a fun question. It’s because it focuses your brain on the truth. It focuses your brain on what’s ultimately the good instead of the short-term pleasure. Because you guys have all had that short-term weight loss. You had it. How great is it now?
And as Catholics, we don’t do short-term things. And when you can be open to considering there’s a different way, God will come in and heal and restore you so that you aren’t finding those food rules, the calories, the macros as your safety net.
I know the world would never ask you these questions, but our ultimate goal is to be so much like the Lord, to have so much peace, to be restored to order, to have no false gods, to see ourselves the way that God sees us.
Would any of you disagree that that’s our ultimate goal? Our ultimate goal is to be Christ-like in all ways, even the ways that we care for ourselves, and to allow Him to heal and restore us. Do you agree with that? Do you believe that our ultimate goal is to have no false gods? That we only use God as our God?
Do you believe that our ultimate goal is to let God inform us of who we are, of our identity and our self-worth? Not the scale, not your pant size, not if you’re eating the right food. I think all of you would agree with that.
And if you don’t, then this work isn’t for you, which is fine. There’s gonna be a whole bunch of people who probably haven’t listened this far. But if you’re listening this far, you know that you want God as your God, and that’s what we do at Weight Loss with the Holy Spirit.
So I’m gonna put the link to the fall reset workshop in the description so that you can make sure that you’re at the workshop. You can understand all of the parts of it, how we’re going to be doing a fall reset. I hope you join us for the fall reset, but even if you just wanna come to the workshop, it’s a free workshop. You’ll get all the details there. I’ll put the link in the description so you have that.
But in closing, you have to hear this. Please don’t get off yet. You are doing nothing wrong. You’re a woman just like me. You are a woman just like me who’s been conditioned and influenced by the world.
And the world could be media, the world could be the people that you live with, the world could be the people who raised you, the world could be your grade school friends, the world could be anyone, anything that isn’t God. The world could be yourself, the way that you talk to yourself.
We all come with our own history. We all come with our own past. We all come with our own beliefs about body, food, weight, all of the things. You are doing nothing wrong. But as a Catholic woman who loves the Lord, your work is to notice where your peace is being stolen.
Be open to believing that the culture doesn’t know God’s ways, but you want to learn God’s ways. You can simply notice when you’re making the scale or a different number be a false god And tell you your worth?
But most important is address the real issues. There’s you now and then you at your healthy weight, restored mentally and physically, and all we have to do is address the real obstacles And that’s what I will address in the workshop, the Fall Reset workshop, so make sure you are there. Go to the description and get your spot in the workshop.
But just know this, it is so darn simple to get to your healthy weight. It is so darn simple to get to the most peaceful version of you because the only thing standing in the way is a thought or a behavior pattern. And this work reveals that, and we don’t do everything all at once, but we take on a few habits, a few daily disciplines that reveal the work and that restore us and heal us.
Okay? So I’ll be talking all about that at the Fall Reset Workshop. I hope this has been a very helpful podcast for you to know that you’re doing nothing wrong, but there is a different way. Because at Weight Loss with the Holy Spirit, our work is to keep God our God, not our pant size, not the scale, not the magic macros or calorie count, where God is truly our own God.
All right, everybody. Have a blessed day.
